It sounds cliche’ but I came to Portland in 1999 with a guitar and a band to seek fortune and fame. I fell into Interior Design by absolute chance. It was the passion and the personalities in the design community that peaked my interest in this new world. Twenty years later and I love design even more than I did when I started. I have the privilege of living in North Portland with my wife Carrie and our two beautiful daughters, Tottie and Tippi. I believe that a well-designed space is the perfect intersection of science and art. Space has endless possibilities and every day provides a chance to have a positive impact on someone’s life. I love design, I love designers and I’m honored to be a part of the PNW design community. Let’s grow together and build a legacy.
Jordan Gates
Jordan Gates, Partner
As a relative newcomer to the PNW I still feel like I’m living in a dream. The people, geography and business climate are a revelation. And to be so fortunate to share this lovely place with my wife Alison and our two beautiful daughters, Gemma and Maren is the highlight of my life. My background is bit eclectic. I have a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Utah, I started my undergrad in Architecture, and have had several careers since graduation; including a stint in city government (ask me about it sometime). But one theme has remained constant, a love of art and design, a passion for the outdoors and a yearning to have a positive influence on the people around me. Joining absolute resource has provided me the unique opportunity to combine my professional ambitions and personal passions in one great space. I am privileged to get to work every day and look forward to the next day’s adventure.
